Rusty, Son of Charlie has been genetically tested for the complete panel of seven genetic disorders can occur in Labrador Retrievers. The AKC recommends that all responsible Labrador breeders have their dogs tested for to ensure that they don’t pass on any of these defective genes and that their puppies are healthy and free of genetic disorders. All seven of these possible disorders are double recessive, which means that both parents must have the gene in order for their puppy to be affected by the disorder.
Rusty has tested negative on all of the tests done by Animal Genetics for the full panel of genetic disorders found in Labrador Retrievers, meaning that he is free of all of these genetic disorders.
